Yoga Strong Minute #11: A Sneaky Good Shoulder Fix

Samantha Harrison | OCT 30, 2025

“Your body keeps the score. But it also holds the key to healing.”Inspired by Bessel van der Kolk

This month, we’ve been focusing on one of the most common problem areas we see: tight shoulders & stiff necks.

Whether you're sitting at a desk, looking at a screen, or just carrying stress (hello, life), chances are your shoulders are tight and stiff.

There’s one movement I love to teach my private yoga clients to release this tension:

It’s called Wall Clocks — and it feels so good.

We don’t always have time (or wall space) to do it in group classes, so I wanted to share it with you here:

🕒 Wall Clocks (Here's a tutorial that's recorded in my old studio of it you want to watch too.)

  1. Stand sideways to a wall and sweep your arm in big, slow circles like you’re tracing the numbers on a clock.

  2. Keep your chest facing forward (instead of turning toward the wall).

  1. Go 5 in each direction then switch sides.

✨ It's perfect for opening the chest, improving posture, and reducing shoulder & neck tension. It’s one of those simple movements that delivers big results — especially when done consistently.

This month, we’re incorporating more upper body mobility and tension relief in class.
If your shoulders are whispering (or yelling) for help, your mat is waiting.

See you in class,
Samantha
