🧘♀️ Yoga Strong Minute #14: Best Movement for Stronger Feet (and Better Balance)

“You can't build a strong structure without a strong foundation.”
Most people don’t think of their big toe as a powerhouse —
but if you’re working on improving your balance, it’s the place to start.
👣 Strong arches = strong outer hips = better balance.
And one of the simplest ways to build stronger arches is with a movement I teach in nearly every beginner series and private session:
This movement strengthens the intrinsic muscles of your feet and wakes up the deep stabilizers in your hips — especially your glute medius, which plays a huge role in balance, walking, and hiking.
Builds awareness of how your feet interact with the ground
Activates the muscles that create a strong arch
Preps your hips to support you better in standing & balance poses
Helps reduce foot fatigue and improve alignment from the ground up
Whether you’re working on Warrior III, trying to feel more stable in daily life, or just want to stop gripping with your toes — this is your move.
Practice it barefoot. Keep it simple.
You’ll be amazed what a little toe control can do.
See you (and your feet) on the mat,
Samantha
