Yoga Strong Minute #21: Glute Stretch + Gratitude

This month at Yoga Strong, we’re focusing on glutes & gratitude which is why I wanted to share 1 simple stretch AND 1 simple gratitude practice that you can do TODAY.
Let’s start with your glutes...
Your glutes and deep hip muscles do more than help you stand up, sit down, walk, balance, and stabilize your spine.
When they are tight — particularly the piriformis — you may notice:
Lower back discomfort
Hip tenderness
Radiating tightness down the leg
“Just feeling stuck”
The stretch I’m sharing today is one of my go-to’s — gentle, accessible, and can be done on the floor or even on your couch.

Here’s something beautiful about the nervous system:
When we stretch, breathe, and redirect our attention toward what’s going well, we tell the body: “You are safe here.”
Pause and ask yourself:
What is one thing I CAN do today that I couldn't do in years past? What's one area of my body that doesn't hurt that used to?
Let it be simple:
If yesterday you had a headache and now you don't, be grateful.
If a month ago you were sick and you're not now, be grateful.
If you can do a movement or yoga pose now that you couldn't a month or year ago, be grateful.
Write it down. Say it out loud.
Because the more we name what is good, the more we see what is good.
